A fascinating day was had at County Record Office in Truro, soon to be housed in a new purpose built venue, Kresen Kernow.
One of the most interesting discoveries is the magnificent 1840 Tithe map. Tithe maps work in conjunction with apportionment tables and detail land use, type and tenure. It's an intriguing insight which we are now researching in greater detail.
"Our visit to the County Records Office was a whistle-stop tour by an expert staff member who shared his knowledge and love for the contents of this repository covering at least seven centuries - just think of all the secrets lurking in there waiting to be discovered! I felt inspired and intrigued and wanted to start researching straight away."
