Botanical Illustration Workshop - Some photos & Illustrations

It has been an extraordinary visit into a really valuable discipline as well as a great way to engage more deeply with natural history at Trengwainton.

The botanical illustration course was held on March 11/12/13 at Trengwainton Garden and run by Mally Francis FLS.  Thanks to our funders we were able to bring Mally down to West Cornwall from her base at Heligan Gardens and offer local people an incredible opportunity for free.

We were very lucky with the weather...the sun was shining and the polytunnel was very hot for early March. Remarkable as two days previous the garden had to be closed due to extremely high winds and it had been raining heavily for months.

A huge thank you to all our wonderfully talented participants who created some beautiful illustrations for our project book and other outputs - it's hard to believe that they had never done botanical drawing before.  We look forward to working with some of them again throughout the coming year to document other wonderful plants from the garden.

Below is a small selection of photos and illustrations from the day.
